From Mom's Kitchen to Yours...
In 2020, Daniel Schroeder was visiting his parents when his mom, Mary, revealed that she’d been quietly battling severe joint and nerve pain for several years. Despite his parents' medical backgrounds—his mom a nurse and his dad a doctor—not one of the traditional medications they tried had helped.
She surprised Daniel again when she explained how she had finally found relief by using a hemp plant extract called cannabidiol, or CBD. He thought of how many other people were suffering in silence just like his mom had, and he began to wonder how many might be helped by this largely-unknown natural remedy.
Together Daniel and his mom began crafting simple CBD tinctures, salves, and various infused baked goods right there in her kitchen, and they started selling them at local farmers markets. His hunch was validated as customers returned time and again with stories of eased joint discomfort and newfound calm!
Soon, customers started asking if he could make anything to help their dogs. After some additional research and product testing, he added CBD pet treats to the lineup followed by a CBD-infused, all-natural peanut butter that came to be known as Peanut Pupper.
From soothing scared pups during storms and fireworks to easing mobility issues in senior dogs, Peanut Pupper began improving pets' lives one jar at a time and quickly became their top product.
In 2023, Mom's Kitchen set up a simple online ordering page so that current customers had an easier way to get the products they had come to depend on for themselves and their pets year-round. Through the magic of the internet, lots of new customers began to find them, too!
In 2024, Daniel invited Brent Reader to join as co-founder, as the business grew beyond the farmers market to include a full e-commerce store and an increasing number of retail locations.
Today, what started in a small home kitchen has grown into a trusted family brand—bringing natural relief to thousands of pets and people across the country.
